About me
Shannon Lucas (she/her) is the Director of Advocacy for the Michigan Advocacy Program. As Director of Advocacy, Shannon works with MAP’s six LSC funded field offices to ensure quality representation, develop office work plans, and impact litigation projects. Shannon also manages the program wide office that handles employment issues like benefits and criminal record expungement. She has worked with numerous agencies to train and ensure the new Clean Slate/Expungement laws in Michigan are integrated in a manner that is optimal for petitioners. Prior to acting as Director of Advocacy, Shannon worked as the managing attorney in the Monroe office of MAP for almost 20 years. Her focus was on litigation in public benefit, employment readiness, and family law/domestic violence. Shannon is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo College of Law where she was the first recipient of the Public Interest Law Fellowship.
