About me
Monica Arellano (she/her) joined LAFLA in April 2018. She currently serves as the Deputy Director. Previously, she served as managing attorney of the reentry work through the Restoring Communities Workgroup and homelessness prevention project through Measure H funding. Before joining LAFLA, Monica worked at the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice working on immigration cases for survivors of interpersonal violence and sexual assault. Monica also served as a fellow at the Riverside County Public Defender's office. Before becoming an attorney, Monica worked at Inner City Law Center as a paralegal on habitability litigation and eviction prevention cases. Monica received degrees in Chicanx Studies and History from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a J.D. from Southwestern School of Law.
