As Dentons’ Pro Bono Partner, Ben Weinberg helps manage Dentons’ substantial global pro bono program. Ben helps develop new pro bono initiatives with legal aid providers, nonprofits, and NGOs. He encourages and facilitates pro bono participation across Dentons and helps firm lawyers and professionals establish pro bono practices that are meaningful and impactful in the community. Ben also helps develop and support pro bono and community service partnerships with Dentons’ commercial clients. Ben also serves on the firm’s US Charitable Contribution Committee. Prior to joining Dentons, Ben served as Chief of the Illinois Attorney General’s Public Interest Division. Before that, Dentons was a litigation partner and associate at Jenner & Block, where he maintained an active pro bono practice. Ben began his career at Legal Aid Chicago, providing direct legal aid services to residents on the south side of Chicago. Ben also served as law clerk to the Honorable William J. Bauer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Ben is one of the founders of the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA) and serves as Board Secretary. Ben was President of the Association of Pro Bono Counsel (APBCo) in 2016, and Ben serves on the PILnet Pro Bono Leadership Council.
