Bill Boies focuses his law practice on business dispute counseling and defending financial class action litigation throughout the country.
Bill leads a pro bono program at McDermott, Will and Emery that advises national legal aid organizations, Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) programs and bar foundations about obtaining cy pres awards from the undistributed residue of class action settlement funds and submits amicus briefs for legal aid organizations opposing appeals by serial objectors who argue for the elimination of cy pres awards in class action settlements. Bill recieved the 2024 Arthur von Briesen award from the National Legal Aid and Defender Assocaition for his work about cy pres awards.
