About me
Ignacio Jaureguilorda is the Director of Civil Access to Justice Initiatives at the Center for Justice Innovation. He has spent over a decade working to bridge the civil justice gap by building partnerships across the public and private sectors.
Ignacio is the founding director of Community Justice Connect (formerly Legal Hand), a network of storefront justice centers launched in 2015 to recruit and train community volunteers in civil justice matters across New York City. He also previously led Poverty Justice Solutions, helping early-career attorneys engage in evcition prevention work.
Before joining the Center for Justice Innovation, Ignacio spent 14 years as a public interest attorney, providing free civil legal services to low-income New Yorkers. He served as Director of Legal Services at the AIDS Center of Queens County, where he led the organization's legal and public policy initiatives and represented individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses. Previously, as an attorney with Housing Works, he litigated cases involving housing discrimination, income-based real estate bias, and the rights of transgender individuals.
Over the course of his career, Ignacio has represented clients in a wide range of civil legal matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, public benefits, discrimination, immigration, and family law. His work continues to focus on expanding access to justice through community-driven, innovative solutions.
