About me
Molly Russell (she/her) is a practicing attorney with the Morgantown Office at Legal Aid of West Virginia, Inc. She is the Pro Bono Supervising Attorney, where she works with the private attorney involvement staff to recruit, retain, and educate pro bono attorneys statewide. Prior to her supervisory position, she was a staff attorney who specialized in domestic violence law. In this position, she represented victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking against their perpetrators in civil court.
Before working full-time for Legal Aid, she was a supervising attorney for several years at the WVU College of Law Child and Family Advocacy Clinic. In this capacity, she supervised student attorneys in family law, education law, and domestic violence law cases.
Molly graduated from West Virginia University College of Law in 2013 with pro bono distinction and was a student attorney in the Child and Family Advocacy Clinic (the very one she later helped supervise). Prior to law school, Molly earned a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies from West Virginia University. She has taught pre-k special needs, 1st grade, alternative education for middle schoolers, and more, but her current favorite students to teach are law students and pro bono attorneys eager to help those in need.
She is a member of the West Virginia State Bar Family Law Committee and a board member of the Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center.
